ALUMINIUM FREE
Until recently, coffee packaging coated with a metallised barrier or aluminium were standard. Great for preserving coffee, but not the most sustainable choice. For example it will not be collected for recycling with other plastic waste and these packaging materials are not easily recyclable.
Working with some of our customers, we started testing alternative materials to make packaging free of aluminium, while maintaining the barrier properties to keep the coffee as fresh as possible. We succeeded and this has been the standard for us for years now – and a trend and transition that is now filtering through to supermarkets. We continue to innovate. For example, all our coffee bags are also carbon compensated, and mono-material is becoming the new standard.

HIGH OXYGEN BARRIER
Oxygen and light have a negative impact on the taste and quality of coffee beans. Packaging for coffee must therefore allow little UV to pass through and be airtight. It is important that a coffee packaging stands out, is stable and easy to use.

You can easily order coffee bags from stock via our Dutch Coffee Pack portal. We are constantly working to develop new forms and optimise materials. For example, we have bags made from 100% PE mono-material and bags with a varnish that feels like paper.
