Berlin Packaging, a leading supplier of glass, plastic and metal containers and closures, today launches ITINERA, a collection of eight new bottles that combines the sector’s most iconic shapes with innovative lines, designed to satisfy all the needs of producers and the most contemporary wine brands.
The presentation of the new line takes place at the same time as the inauguration of the site in Albaredo d’Adige (Verona, Italy).

The expansion of Berlin Packaging across Europe, which began with the acquisition of Bruni Glass in 2016, has coincided with local investments and an expansion of the company’s range, both in terms of products and customer services,” confirms Paolo Recrosio, CEO of Berlin Packaging EMEA. “With the dual aim of increasing the quality of services for our customers and more greatly overseeing the north east of Italy, strongly linked to one of our priority markets – wine and spirits – we sought to pair the ribbon cutting ceremony of the new site in Veneto with the launch of a collection designed specifically for the wine sector.

With this collection we wish to stand out to wine producers for the value that our business can offer. The Itinera collection was indeed also created thanks to the several decades of experience of the Italian Innovation Center where we undertake highly innovative projects, creating packaging capable of transmitting a significant additional value to the product contained within. Itinera represents a journey of discovery in the captivating world of wine, which combines the company’s expertise in the glass sector with the desire to give shape and substance to the sector’s most iconic bottle designs.

The name of the new collection reflects the very idea of a journey to discover an Italian excellence which is so important for our economy. In the same way, the bottles have names that recall the ancient Roman roads that played an important role in the evolution of wine, conveying all the emotion of an eternal thousand-year-old tradition.

Itinera features 8 bottles, split between the SELECTION and EXPERIENCE lines. The bottles from the Selection range are characterised by a design with strongly distinctive details that bestow exclusivity on the product. The following models are featured:

  • Cassia: with simple, clean lines that give life to a naturally elegant shape, Cassia recaptures the concept of the Bordeaux high shoulder, designing a statuesque silhouette perfect for pairing with prestigious wine of greater character.

  • Flaminia: this reinterpretation of the Borgognotta shape presents an elongated neck completed by a minimalist neck sticker. Tight and confident lines define the ideal packaging for a wine that wishes to stand out.

  • Aquitania: Inspired by the classic champagne bottle, Aquitania reinterprets its proportions and details with clear references to tradition. The heavy weight makes the colour of the glass even deeper and more precious. Guaranteed for a secondary fermentation in the bottle, it is ideal for prestigious champagne, sparkling and vintage wine.

  • Aemilia: is an excellent option for those in search of an unconventional design: the slender and unprecedented shape is designed to surprise. The glass weight, lighter than the other bottles in the line, enhances the reflections of the contents and makes its extra-flint version ideal for rosé wine.
