OBSESSION GIN
A bespoke packaging winner of prestigious packaging awards.
The Perfect balance between structure, symbol, and desire
At Studio One Eleven, we understand that packaging is not just a container — it’s a statement of intent, a piece meant to seduce as much as it is to serve a function. With Obsession Gin, our goal was to create a complete experience, where every element — from the bottle’s shape to the visual language of the label — spoke the same language: that of passion, elegance, and an obsession with detail.
Recognized with the 2025 WorldStar Award, the 2024 NACD Packaging Award, and the 2023 Liderpack Award, Obsession Gin stands as an outstanding example of how design, storytelling, and craftsmanship can merge into a single piece of packaging.
INSPIRATION: THE CHARM OF GLASS AND IRON
The structural design of the bottle was born from a fascination with the architecture of glass greenhouses and the iron-and-glass buildings of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Icons such as Madrid’s Crystal Palace served as a starting point for conceiving a form that evokes both the transparency of a botanical greenhouse and the sophistication of an architectural jewel.
The result is a bottle that seems to preserve, within its translucent structure, a small universe of aromas, colors, and flavors — a true “liquid greenhouse.”
Visual narrative: sin turned design
The name Obsession is no coincidence. The label and branding draw inspiration from the duality between desire and the forbidden, reimagining the fable of the Garden of Eden. In this story, Adam becomes the gardener of a paradise filled with exotic plants and vibrant flowers — the very same botanicals that give each gin its distinctive character and nuance.
Each bottle thus becomes a contemporary reinterpretation of the original myth: the apple of temptation transformed into a sublime gin — a modern obsession encapsulated in crystal.
The Challenge: Balance Between Form and Content
The greatest challenge of the project was ensuring that the bottle and the label coexisted as an indivisible unit. It was not about designing a container and then dressing it, but about creating a total object — where structure and graphics intertwine to tell the same story.
This integration is reflected in the way the botanical elements on the label appear to grow from within the bottle itself, reinforcing the idea of a closed ecosystem — an encapsulated Eden. The transparency of the glass, combined with metallic and tactile finishes on the label, enhances the perception of quality and sophistication.
SUSTAINABILITY & AUTHENTICITY
Beyond visual impact, sustainability was a key guiding principle throughout the process. Recyclable materials were carefully selected while maintaining the exclusivity expected of a premium product. The durability of the bottle also allows for its reuse, extending its life cycle beyond consumption.
Conclusion: a liquid work of art
Obsession Gin is far more than just a gin — it is a sensory and aesthetic experience that unites history, architecture, and desire within a single vessel.
At Studio One Eleven, we succeeded in materializing a complex idea — obsession as both pleasure and art — into a piece of packaging that invites you to look, touch, and ultimately, taste.
