STILL G.I.N.

INSPIRATION: CRAFTSMANSHIP ELEVATED TO DESIGN

The initial concept created by Ini Archibong was a bottle rooted in tactile storytelling. Its surface — organic, uneven, sculptural — was intentionally conceived to evoke the imperfections and authenticity of hand shaped glass. Deep black coloration further strengthened its presence, creating a sense of mystery, weight, and luxury. The design captures the personality of the artists behind the brand: expressive, unconventional, and guided by the interplay between form, feeling, and cultural identity.

Bringing this idea to life meant understanding more than the shape itself. The prototype represented a creative gesture — a celebration of craft, texture, and character — and our work needed to honour that artistic message through every stage of development.

TURNING ARTISTRY INTO INDUSTRIAL FEASIBILITY

The challenge of STILL G.I.N. was not conceptual, but technical: how to transform a hand blown, irregularly textured piece into a reproducible bottle without losing what made it unique. Black glass alone presents manufacturing complexity, and when combined with a deep, highly detailed surface relief, only very few glass producers in the world possess the capability to replicate it reliably. Berlin Packaging identified and secured a manufacturing partner with the expertise required to meet these exacting standards.

Our Studio One Eleven then translated the artisanal prototype into an engineered structure. Every surface transition, thickness, and contour was studied to ensure mouldability, structural integrity, and faithful reproduction of the original hand worked character. The goal was to maintain the expressive irregularities while guaranteeing consistent production — a balance of artistic preservation and technical precision.

A CLOSURE CONCEIVED AS PART OF THE WHOLE

To complete the packaging system, our team designed a fully bespoke cork closure tailored to the unique neck profile of the bottle. The closure needed to deliver both performance and harmony: a perfect fit, stability during filling temperature changes, and seamless alignment with the premium aesthetic. Rather than treating it as an accessory, the closure was developed as an integral design element, reinforcing the sculptural qualities of the bottle.

SPEED, COORDINATION, AND INTEGRATED EXPERTISE

Beyond its creative and technical complexity, STILL G.I.N. required an exceptionally rapid development timeline. The entire process — from the original hand‑blown model to a production‑ready design — was completed in just two months. This accelerated delivery was possible thanks to the integrated capabilities of Berlin Packaging | Studio One Eleven: design, engineering, supplier management, and industrialization working as a single, fluid process.

THE RESULT: A DISTINCTIVE EXPRESSION OF PREMIUM IDENTITY

The final STILL G.I.N. bottle is a faithful translation of the designer’s vision — bold, expressive, and unmistakably sculptural. It demonstrates what becomes possible when creativity and engineering collaborate seamlessly. A packaging piece that transforms an artistic idea into a tangible icon, setting a new benchmark for premium spirits design.
