Packaging Development & Customer Requirements
TRY-B was founded by Prof. Dr. Dr. Dieter Essfeld and Dr. Stephan Lück, bringing together over 12 years of scientific expertise and practical application. Their mission is simple yet powerful: to create a weight‑loss approach that works without sacrificing enjoyment or well‑being. This philosophy led to a nutritional concept designed to satisfy cravings while promoting high-protein intake, helping prevent muscle loss during fasting.
In preparation for the January 2025 launch, TRY-B partnered with Berlin Packaging in July 2024 to achieve a challenging deadline: complete packaging development by October 2024. Berlin Packaging was selected for its flexibility, speed and “Anything Is Possible” mindset, making it the ideal partner for this high-paced project.
The goal was clear: develop compact, portable trial packaging suited for daily use. Early explorations included small bottles and flexible options, since TRY-B’s existing range featured larger, bulkier formats. Ultimately, the teams chose a custom-sized 38 ml PET cylinder bottle paired with an 18 mm crabslaw cap, creating a sleek, durable and user-friendly format.
To complement the range, Berlin Packaging also delivered a Tritan water bottle, offering customers a reusable, on-the-go solution aligned with TRY-B’s lifestyle concept.

Product Concept &
Market Positioning
Each 38 ml PET cylinder bottle contains a liquid supplement that provides all 27 essential nutrients the body needs, while supporting a healthy calorie deficit. In addition to weight-loss benefits, TRY-B functions as both a vitamin supplement and a fasting aid, helping satisfy cravings and maintain adequate protein intake to prevent muscle degradation.
A daily TRY-B ration consists of four 38 ml tubes, diluted into two liters of beverage, totaling approximately 514 kcal. Combined with a protein-rich, low-carbohydrate meal, the total daily intake reaches 900 to 1,000 kcal, supporting the goal of losing around one kilogram of fat per week. The PET cylinders are packaged conveniently in boxes of 28 bottles, offering a one-week supply.
The original herbal flavor has been enhanced and expanded with four new 2024 flavors:

Positioned firmly within the healthcare segment rather than sports nutrition, TRY-B is distributed through drugstores and pharmacies across Germany, Switzerland, and Austria, with planned expansion into Belgium, the Netherlands, and the Middle East.
Target Audience & Future Goals
TRY-B’s primary audience consists of women aged 35 to 55, representing about 90% of current users. The remaining 10% includes men aged 50 and older.
The brand aims to continue supporting this core demographic, while expanding its portfolio with new flavors, formats and product experiences. At the same time, TRY-B will maintain its collaboration with Berlin Packaging to deliver ongoing packaging innovation.
With a strong foundation in healthcare, expanding international distribution, and a focus on product innovation, the 38 ml PET cylinder project reflects TRY-B’s commitment to packaging excellence, customer trust and science-backed nutrition solutions.
