From concept to packaging: a distinctive new identity for a gin

A new brand, a new identity

For 1492 Coloniale Group, Camugin was conceived as a brand and product project rooted in Liguria, the region that inspires its identity and character.

The packaging concept was developed to translate these origins into a distinctive visual identity through a coordinated solution combining bottle, decoration and closure. Each element helps express the gin’s personality, turning its connection to the region into a coherent and recognisable product experience.

When packaging becomes part of the project

From the earliest stages, Berlin Packaging brought its customisation expertise to the project, developing different execution options in line with the client’s needs.

The Stone 700ml bottle was selected as the foundation for Camugin’s visual identity. It was finished with a sleeve decoration designed to give the surface its distinctive look, along with a personalised closure. The solution was also adapted to a 100ml miniature format, featuring the same sleeve decoration paired with a standard closure.

The project shows how combining a bottle selected from Berlin Packaging’s portfolio with customised details can make packaging one of a brand’s defining features.

One point of contact: Berlin Packaging’s One-Stop Shop model

The development of Camugin required coordination among the many stakeholders involved at different stages of the project.Throughout the process, Studio One Eleven, Berlin Packaging’s in-house design and innovation division, worked closely with the client’s communications agency, 1492 Coloniale Group and the various suppliers, also supporting sample management and presentations.

Having a single point of contact for the entire project was one of the aspects most appreciated by the client. Berlin Packaging presented different execution options, guiding 1492 Coloniale Group through the available customisation possibilities and helping turn initial ideas into a tangible solution.

The result is packaging designed to support Camugin’s market debut. From concept to finished bottle, Berlin Packaging helped build the brand’s identity by bringing packaging, customisation and coordination together in one solution.
