RHUM NEGRITA
Where heritage meets contemporary design
A packaging design project that preserves the identity of an iconic rum.
Rhum Negrita’s story dates back to the 1800s, when Paul Bardinet transformed his passion for Caribbean rum into a brand that became a benchmark in the market. To support its evolution, Berlin Packaging and Studio One Eleven developed a new bottle that preserves the brand’s visual continuity while introducing distinctive details and a more premium aesthetic.
Packaging design as a driver for the evolution of a historic brand
In the spirits market, packaging is one of the key elements in preserving the value of a historic brand and strengthening its positioning.
The redesign focused on maintaining the recognisable silhouette of the bottle while enriching it with embossed details, including the brand’s iconic female figure.
The new packaging enhances:
• Brand identity continuity
• A more premium perception
• Stronger distinctive brand elements
A custom solution combining design and sustainability
The new custom bottle captures the essence of Caribbean rum through a contemporary design while preserving the brand’s heritage.
The project also introduces important improvements:
• 4% less glass and reduced bottle weight
• The redesign also replaces the previous plastic cap with an aluminum closure.
A solution that demonstrates how design, performance and sustainability can coexist in a single project.
Contemporary Design Respecting Heritage
The redesign is completed with a new label developed by Studio One Eleven. The iconic female silhouette has been simplified and reinterpreted in a contemporary way while preserving the brand’s recognisability.
